Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts New Brunswick

Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts New Brunswick

Utilize a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also called pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are used to move supplies and things around on wooden pallets using metal forks which are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight includes a pump which raises the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is designed to be operated by one individual.

To prevent loosing control while lifting heavy loads, pallet trucks must always be operated with care. Equipment must be inspected prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Make sure that the handle could turn smoothly. The pallet should be stacked carefully to ensure that nothing would fall off during transportation.

On the end of the pallet truck's handle, squeeze the level located on the inside of the metal loop to be able to release the air in the pump and lower the forks. The forks can then be pushed into the slots of the pallet. The forks must be in the middle to ensure even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Lift the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has completely cleared the ground. Do not raise the pallet too high or the forklift could unbalance.

Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and then dragging it behind you. It is dangerous to push the pallet in front of you because the momentum can cause it to lose control. Slowly take turns and don't try to stop suddenly. Stop gradually, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Finally, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
