History
During 1919, Salzgitter Maschinenbau AG was started. The company was established by an engineer and pioneer in oil drilling and modern drilling technology by Anton Raky. The company's first name was Anton Raky, Tiefbohrungen in Salzgitter.

During 1986, the company obtained the grab product division from Peiner AG. Soon after, Peiner was developed into an international brand in the following years.
