Different Classes of Aerial Lift
A specialized kind of heavy equipment that enables a person to be raised into the air is aerial lifts. These equipment are normally utilized to complete repairs on areas which are high up in the air like on roofs, near street-light fixtures and power lines. Like the majority of devices, there are different types of aerial lifts that could be used to perform different jobs. For the utmost safety, each kind of different type of machinery requires proper training and specific qualifications before using it.

Scissor Lifts
Scissor lifts are often referred to as Genie lifts. They are considered the most basic kind of aerial lift. These lifts are made of a platform which is lifted up utilizing pneumatic power and are mainly utilized indoors. Usually, scissor lifts are the safest type of lift models. When totally compressed, these scissor lifts could be driven like large carts. Usually, when the platform is extended, they are not able to be driven for safety reasons. Before anyone can utilize these devices, employees have to be certified as operators.

Boom Lifts
The boom lift is a much more complex pieces of aerial lift machine compared to a scissor lift. The boom lift often has a much wider base to keep the lift anchored. It uses a jointed arm which has a bucket on the end of it. There is a control box situated in the bucket that enables the operator to hoist and lower the bucket. Since the arm of the boom is jointed, it could also move from side to side. The boom lift looks like a tail of a metal scorpion. Usually, it is used in outdoor construction applications. The boom lift is considered to be more risky to operate than scissor lifts, thus, operators need to be licensed individually for these kinds of lifts.
