Clark Counterbalance Forklifts New Brunswick

The forklift is a material handling equipment used to lift and move loads from one place to another. Every component of a forklift has a specific function. Various components can be used to transport the load either vertically or horizontally.

Mast
The components used to lower and lift the load is called the forklift mast. There are different kinds of masts utilized for lifting loads to different heights: duplex, triplex, quad and simplex.

Power Supply
Forklifts have four different ways of being powered: electric, gas, propane and diesel. The battery is located within the cab underneath the seat. The propane tank is on the rear of the truck. The fuel tank on gas and diesel forklifts is under the back of the truck.

Cab
The forklift cab is positioned in the center of the truck. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the controls and informational gauges. The gas pedal, steering wheel, lifting controls, tilting controls and brake are all located within the cab.

Frame
The truck frame carries all the biggest parts of the forklift, like the counterweights, which are located at the rear in order to prevent the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame consists of the overhead guard which protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the driveshaft, axles and wheels.
