Work platforms which are used to raise and lower people, supplies and tools for work positioning and loading are also known as lifts. Typically, they mount onto or near the truck's bed or back and are often used for lifting cargo up to or above the bed surface.
As the name implies, personnel lifts are engineered to lower and raise workers to heights for working or storage activities. Normally, these machinery offer a lower maximum weight capacity than other types of lifts. These lifts are usually ringed by safety supports and devices in order to protect the working operators, and individuals who are working on them. This classification comprises boom lifts which specialize in working in high places such as elevated wire repair and installation, and ceiling welding. Dock lifts are used to raise and lower personnel and loads in areas such as loading docks.
